What is Life Science, and what are some of the branches of Life Science?

There are many fields of science, there are also many branches relating to different forms of life. An example would be zoology, which is the study of animals. Zoology branches into a number of other studies like ornithology, which is the study of birds, as well as entomology. This is the study of insects and bugs. Also, mammalogyis the study of mammals and ichthyology which is the study of fish. Another field of life science is Herpetology which is the study of reptiles and amphibians. All of these fall under the category of Zoology. Biology is the study of life. Biology also branches to other studies such as genetics. Genetics is the study of genes. Other branches of biology include ecology and physiology. Ecology is the study of organisms in their environments. Physiology is the study of the function of organisms. Cytology is also part of biology and physiology, and it is the study of cells. Botany is the study of plants. Within botany there is mycology, which is the study of fungi. Other studies of life science include bacteriology which is the study of bacteria. Virology is the study of viruses. To study the organisms that are very small you have to use a microscope to see it. A microscope magnifies tiny microscopic objects and is used to examine bacteria and parasites and other things that want to be magnified to an extreme magnification. An example of a branch that uses this is Microbiology, Parasitology and Taxonomy. Microbiology studies microscopic organisms. Parasitological studies parasites such as tics, and flees. Taxonomy is the classifying of organisms. Pathology and Anatomy are the study of diseases and study of the structure of an animal or plant. Lastly, archeology is the study of spiders. Although these are all the studies of very different things, it is very interesting to see how the sciences overlap and are intertwined. Without these branches of life science we wouldn't know as much as we know now today. In conclusion, life science is based off of the many different branches of science.
